Future pacing is used in hypnosis. It involves mental rehearsing of desired behaviors and outcomes that a client wishes to achieve in his or her future life. The client is made to visualize their future with everything that they wanted to achieve in their life and overcoming their obstacles and facing them positively and successfully. It allows the client to think and feel that their goals and wishes are achievable.
    Benefits of Future Pacing:
It helps to build confidence, handle situations with reduced anxiety and stress, promote positivity and resilience, and feel in control.
    Interesting fact about future pacing:
Future pacing in hypnosis is somewhat similar to the phenomena of prospective thinking. It involves the mind to naturally think about the events that might happen in the future, helping to prepare for the upcoming opportunities and challenges. Future pacing in hypnosis helps the mind to create positive outcomes, leading the individual’s mind to focus on the success in a certain event in the future. During visualization of the future, the client’s mind thinks that the event is actually happening. It is followed by emotions such as happiness, relaxation, and confidence.
Utilizing future pacing in real life occupations:
A cricket player might imagine himself hitting fours and sixers confidently and having control over this nerves during a stressful match situation. It would help him improve his performance and control his stress during the match.
A motivational speaker might imagine himself successfully delivering a speech, engaging the audience, and making a positive impact.
A medical surgeon might imagine himself confidently engaged in a surgery, focusing on the procedure, handling the stress and pressure, and successfully completing the surgery procedure.
