Staircase technique is a progressive relaxation technique. It create a sense of gradual descent allowing a deeper and deeper relaxation in body it also involves person’s imagination that allow him to connect inwards and letting his worries fade away.
This technique helps the client to focus their attention inwardly and create a sense of detachment from their surroundings.
Generally in this technique the client is asked to imagine themselves standing at the top of a staircase, often with a specific number of steps (e.g., 7/10/15).
The client is then guided to walk down the staircase adding the details in to his imagination, step by step, with each step representing a deeper state of relaxation.
The hypnotist may suggest that the client notice the sensation of their feet touching the stairs, the sound of their footsteps, or the feeling of relaxation spreading through their body as they descend.
The client is encouraged to focus on their breath and let go of any tension or thoughts as they walk down the staircase.
