Planting a tree induction or therapeutic technique is used to guide the client into a relaxed and deepened state of trance, where therapeutic suggestions can be given accordingly. This is done by making them visualize a beautiful garden. They are asked to focus on the different colors, textures, sounds, and scents which makes them go deeper into relaxation. This is followed by making them reach a barren area after walking through the garden. They are asked to clear the barren area by removing any rocks, stones, or thorns. They are then asked to plant a seed in that barren land. They are asked to look after the seed, water it, watch how the sun rays fall onto it, and observe it grow slowly and steadily into a beautiful tree.
This whole process leads to a relaxed state. By making the client relate to the tree that emerges from the seed and the ground slowly and gradually, they are instilled with the feelings of positivity, hope, peace, healing, strength, and growth. They feel empowered, resilient, and confident to face and handle the challenges of life beautifully.
This induction or technique can be used for enhancing the individual’s self-esteem and confidence, reducing stress, worry, or anxiety, promoting emotional healing, enhancing concentration and focus, and coping with the challenges and hardships of life.
