I would second Arooj’s response.
When an undesired situation is recalled again and again, it gets reinforced and stronger. However, in the SWISH technique, the focus is quickly and rapidly shifted from the negative, unwanted situation or memory towards the positive desired situation or memory, which reduces the overall impact of the negative situation or memory over a period of time.
