Self disclosure was used in psychotherapy to enhance patient, therapist relationship moreover via it , an individual can get relief, find solutions or enhance their coping as they findout that another person also somehow had a same story as theirs, they may feel like a companion around them , they may feel that someone can understand them and they may build up transference positively. Transference is a phenomenon linked with tranfer of unconscious energy to conscious light as , preconscious reinforced certain components thus being Freudian , it always has been my favourite topic of discussion. My Friend John Induction is very similar to those story tales which were taught by our elders to us. Such as a story of prince to build bravery , the story of a wise trader to build honesty etc. Here a story similar to patient’s script of life is utalized at the induction of trance. For example if Ahmed is the one struggling with self esteem issues, so i will explain a story a starting like that , My friend John— was the one, who had problems with himself and will carry out the story by embedding certain suggestions. The patient will reciprocate with the story and will be curious about the end. The story will not look superficial as i will explain the experience of someoone whom i have seen and was having similar experience like patient. All thereupatic techniques are beneficial but this technique being linked with hypnosis will offer greater efficiency.
This technique can be used as an induction technique more as it shifts their attention to a story of another person,and enable hypnotherapist to deepen the process.
It is one of the best technique to filter out resistance and prefrontal efficiency. individuals who may have fear of being controlled, prominent paranoid ideation, and aversive core beliefs linked with hypnosis usually respond well on this technique
